Q. Where do we get our marriage license?
A. Your counties Recorder's Office. You can always Google how to apply for my marriage license in (Your County) county. Many counties allow you to start the application online. Each county is different.
Q. How much does a marriage license cost?
A. The cost of a marriage license in the state of MN is $115 if you haven’t had pre-marital counseling. $40 if you have.
Q. Does the state of MN require blood tests?
A. No
Q. What documentation will I need to apply for a marriage license?
A. Proper identification, Social Security Card, and if you were previously married proof of divorce, death, or annulment.
Q. How long is the marriage license good for?
A. Six months
Q. How old do my witnesses need to be?
A. At least 16 years of age.
Q. How long after I apply for my license can I get married.
A. There is no holding time on MN Marriage License. So the same day you have it in hand.
Q. Where do I get a copy of my divorce decree?
A. Contact the county in which your divorce took place.
Q. Does Vows With Angie charge a travel fee?
A. Only if your ceremony is being held more than 120 miles round trip from Big Lake MN. You will be charged an extra $1.00 per mile. If you are also having a rehearsal you would have the fee twice. Once for the ceremony and once for the rehearsal.
Q. What is a pre-ceremony meeting?
A. A pre-ceremony meeting is an opportunity for you, your spouse, and I to meet. At this meeting, we will go over the details of your ceremony. We will decide on the types of vows you would like, readings, and the flow of your ceremony.
Q. How much will your services cost?
A. My rates depend on your ceremony size. I require a $100.00 non-refundable deposit to hold your date.
Q. When do we need to pay you?
A. The $100.00 deposit is due the day I receive your contract. Please keep in mind I cannot hold your date until this is received. The remainder of the balance is due at the pre-ceremony meeting about 2 weeks before your ceremony. You may also make payments of your choice as long as the $100 deposit is made and the balance is paid in full by the pre-ceremony meeting.
Q. What if things don’t work out or something happens and we can no longer be married?
A. I will work with you to reschedule your event. If the event will no longer be taking place, I will refund you any money paid minus the $100.00 deposit fee.
Q. I have a cousin who wants to read a verse out of the Bible during our ceremony. Will this cost extra?
A. It would cost an extra $75.00. Unless you already paid to include a Unity Ceremony. This $75.00 fee covers both readings and Unity Ceremonies. It allows you to have both if you would like.
Also, once you pay this fee, you may have any number of readings. The reason I charge extra is that it extends the length of the ceremony.
Q. What if we wish to have Unity Sand or a Unity Candle during our ceremony? Will this cost extra?
A. It would cost an extra $75.00. Unless you already paid to include readings in the ceremony. This $75.00 fee covers both readings and Unity Ceremonies. It allows you to have both if you would like.

A. A Unity Ceremony has become a popular way to show during your ceremony, the coming together of two lives becoming one. This can be done many different ways.
